Migrating VMware Workloads to OCI - Troy Ligon

Businesses considering a move to the cloud want to take advantage of the benefits of public cloud: elastic capacity, accelerated operational and business velocity, and clear and planned infrastructure costs. Unfortunately, these gains have typically required a move away from tried and true (and well understood) VMware virtualization and onto the native virtualization of the cloud vendor. Not so any more. With Oracle Cloud VMware Service (OCVS), you can directly migrate your existing VMware workloads onto a VMware cluster running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Join us at this month's SOUG meeting where Troy Ligon will tell you all about this exciting new offering from Oracle. This will be a preview of the session Troy will be presenting at next month's Oracle Cloud World.

With over 40 years of IT experience (35 of that focused on Oracle technology), Troy has travelled extensively, serving a variety of customers primarily in the Public Sector, Manufacturing, and Financial Services sectors. Troy is currently Director of Enterprise Architecture for InComm, Inc, providing guidance and standards for the next generation of IT services across the enterprise. In addition to being a long-standing leader in our local SOUG, Troy is an Oracle ACE and also serves on Quest's DB&T Advisory Board.
