November 11, 2014 Based on your feedback, our friends at Eagle Datagistics will once again be hosting this month's meeting at their office, 111 2nd Ave NE, Suite 1006, St.Petersburg, FL 33701. Join us for refreshments and networking starting at 6pm. This month, Oracle's Paul Ruscito and Gary McKoy will be joining us to talk about the latest advances in Data Guard 12c. They'll discuss Active Data Guard, what it is and how it works, along with some interesting security aspects that you might not have thought about. Paul Ruscito is an accomplished Oracle professional who has held roles as a Developer and DBA in the Energy, Aerospace, Publishing, and Public Sector fields. He has overseen Exadata engagements as well as projects combining Exadata and Oracle's Big Data Appliance. Paul's latest role is as a Sales Consulting Manager in Oracle's Financial Services sector, where he has received Oracle's North American Sales Consulting Manager of the year award. When Paul is not doing Oracle work, he enjoys photography and making home made wines. Gary McKoy has been a Solutions Architect in the Finance and Communications industries for the past 30 years with an emphasis on database and high-availablity. He has been involved in deploying clustered Oracle database solutions, using Oracle Parallel Server and Real Application Clusters, as an Oracle technology specialist since 1996. Prior to joining Oracle, Gary was a database specialist and system engineering manager with Sybase and IBM. He has received numerous awards including System Engineering Manager of the Year with IBM.
