November 20, 2008 What is Cloud Computing and why is it such a big deal? Lewis will be showing a demo of Oracle in the cloud. He will show you how to sign up for your own Amazon AWS account and how to run an Oracle instance in the cloud. You will learn about the importance of keys, how to manage your instances and how to access your cloud database from anywhere in the world. Lewis will also provide tips about how to save costs and maximize the benefits when using a cloud computing platform. If there is time left after all of that, Lewis will explain the new feature of RMAN backups: saving your backups to the cloud (Amazon S3) for cheap off site storage.
